Primary Purpose:

Assist in providing for the instructional and behavior needs of students. Assist in the implementation of classroom programs, behavior management, and instruction. Work under the general supervision of the Principal, Behavior Intervention Specialist, and Certified Teacher.

 

Qualifications:

Education/Certification

High School Diploma / GED required

Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate or willingness to obtain; district will assist in obtaining certification

Trained in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) or willingness to complete training

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of basic computer operations and skills

Ability to operate personal computer and educational software

Ability to work with students and teachers effectively

Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of behavior management techniques

Ability to remain patient, calm, and consistent in challenging situations

 

Preference will be given to applicants with the following qualifications:

Two years of experience working with children preferred
